The LMS Distinguished Visiting Fellowships is a joint programme of the London Mathematical Society (LMS) and the International Centre for Mathematics in Ukraine. The start of the new programme was announced at the LMS Annual General Meeting in London on November 17. Professor Simon Salamon joined the Scientific Board of ICMU as a representative of the LMS.
It is my great pleasure to confirm that the LMS has agreed to sponsor visitors to ICMU by setting up the new "LMS Distinguished Visiting Fellowship" scheme for scientists with recognised achievements in their disciplines. The LMS has pledged for these purposes a sum of £100,000 to be spent down over 10 years.
